They learned about Pioneers, Indians, buffalo, rifles, tomahawks, etc.
Grandpa brought Indian headdresses and a coonskin cap with him. He also had little Indian, buffalo, and Pioneer play figures as gifts. We had coloring papers along the theme, and watched a movie about Davy Crockett. We enjoyed it thoroughly, and have a most authentic video on the subject to share in case your education about Pioneers and Indians is incomplete. :)

hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! i LOVED the video!! olivia looks absolutely tickled pink when she looks over at you, becca. and martin's hand in "how" near the end looked like a "heil hitler". hahahaha. wow. good job, grandpa. they clearly loved every minute of that episode.
